HIGH POINT – According to the latest Furniture Insights report from accounting and consulting firm Smith Leonard PLLC, new furniture orders in February were up 5% compared to January. 

However, February orders were down 7% compared to February 2007. Year-to-date, new orders were off 6% after a 5% decline in January. Shipments fell 7% in February compared to Feb. 2007, and year-to-date shipments were 5% less than the first two months of 2007.
