Fanuc to unveil CNC control enhancements at IMTS
HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL -- Fanuc CNC America plans to unveil "advanced CNC control innovations" at the 2010 International Manufacturing Technology Show, Sept. 13-18, in Chicago.

Planned introductions include: the model 30i-B Series CNC Control, 0i-D/0i-DMate Control, 35i-B CNC Control for transferline machines and 5-axis volumetric error compensation.

Fanuc touts its new 30i-B Series Control as an upgrade of its 30i-A Series. New features and functions include: USB memory port, enhancements in dual safety check, new punch press and laser functionality.

New features of the 0i-D/0i-D Mate Control include: nano interpolation, Al contour II control, jerk control, tool management function and grinding functions.

The new 35i-B Control, based on the 30i-B series, is for transferline machines. It is suited for simple high-speed drilling and transfer machining. It is equipped with a touch screen machine operator panel and embedded Ethernet.

The new 5-axis volumetric error compensation is designed to increase machining accuracy by evaluating the tool location and orientation error throughout the machining volume. Fanuc CNC said this represents "significant improvements over axis-only error compensation."
