Ex-Employee Files Class Action Against Rutland Plywood

RUTLAND, VT – A man who was laid off last year is suing his former employer Rutland Plywood n behalf of himself and 75 other laid off employees.

According to the Rutland Herald, Robert Hudson filed the class action suit in U.S. District Court Feb. 2 charging that Rutland Plywood violated the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act. The suit claims the company failed to provide employees a 60-day in advance written notice of termination.

Hudson is seeking to recover 60 days’ wages and benefits for all affected former employees.

Rutland reportedly laid off about half of its work force on Nov. 30.
