EMI building millwork plant in TexasTAMPA, FL — EMI Industries announced it will open a manufacturing facility and sales office in Arlington, TX, a move designed to better serve the company's Midwest and Southwest markets.

The planned 66,000 square-foot millwork and architectural woodworking facility will house EMI's state-of-the-art CAD/CAM and CNC equipment. Additional capabilities include staining, painting and custom moulding. This new facility will serve EMI’s core customers of food retailers and general retailing environments.

Alan Harvill, CEO of EMI Industries, said the new plant will complement EMI's growth strategy, serving its customers closer to their base, and improving EMI's buying power. "For our customers east of the Mississippi, this expansion gives EMI broader purchasing power and increases our capabilities," says Harvill.

Harvill said EMI's wood, plastic, stainless and aluminum custom fabrication capabilities, create a one-stop shop for his firm's retail and food industry clients. EMI, headquartered in Tampa, FL, employs 300 in its five divisions: Edwards Manufacturing, All State Fabricators, M&H Manufacturing, Dayco USA, and Edwards Wholesale. EMI has 300,000 square feet of combined manufacturing and warehouse facilities.

L. Keith Grant, a 30-year industry veteran, will head the office in Texas as vice president/general manager. Grant brings management, engineering, sales and operational management skills to his new position, according to an EMI spokesman. As former president of MEI, (Merchandising Equipment Inc., Atlanta), his clients included Saks, Inc., Macy’s, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Clinique.
