Election almost pre-empts La-Z-Boy TV spots
SANTA MONICA, CA -- La-Z-Boy Inc.'s ad agency Rubin Postaer & Associates told the Wall St. Journal it had to move fast when election ads threatened to pre-empt its time-sensitive sales TV spots for its recliner furniture maker client.

TV stations are legally bound to run federal candidate political ads if they can match the rates of other advertisers - an increasingly frequent problem this year with the high volume of mid-term election ad spending, running as much as $1.7 billion ahead of the 2008 election spending.
