ROSLYN, NY - George Pickow, who with his cabinetmaker and millwright uncle Morris Pickow established a dulcimer-making business in New York City, died Dec. 10. Pickow is principally remembered for his career as a fine photographer of musicians. He was married to folk singer Jean Ritchie, who set the fret length for dulcimers the Pickows produced, since neither craftsman was musically inclined.
