TOWSON, MD – DeWalt, a manufacturer of industrial power tools, announced the launch of its new NANO Technology rechargeable battery system.

The company claims the new technology combines battery durability, longer cycle life and lighter weight than its previous cordless system. It is being released this month through industrial and retail distribution channels.

The new battery works with more than 40 DeWalt products, including 18V, 28V and 36V cordless power tools. The battery is designed with densely packed Nano phosphate lithium ion cells that offer 2,000 recharges, according to Tom Baldwin, a DeWalt product manager.

DeWalt is also releasing several new products, incorporating the new lightweight power supply. One example is a ¼-inch impact driver, which can be used by installers of cabinets, closet systems and other installation projects.
