Desk auction to raise money for Kids of KathmanduBROOKLYN, NY —

Kids of Kathmandu, a non-profit that utilizes woodworking, photography, art and design to raise awareness and needed funds for orphaned children in Kathmandu, Nepal, was formed last year by Brooklyn-based couple Andrew Raible, a furniture maker, and Jami Saunders, a photographer.

Their first initiative,
The Desk Project, will focus on furniture design where 11 unique kids’ desks made by 11 different designers will be auctioned off on May 12, to support children’s education in Kathmandu.

Ben Strear (Strear Built), Bill Hilgendorf (Uhuru), Brian DeRosia, Daniel Moyer (Daniel Moyer Design), Eric Manigian, James Harmon (Workshop), Mark Righter (Cambium Studio), MADE and Wadaly (Alejandro Cabrera and James Cohen).
