Dept. of Commerce to Conduct International Buyer Program at 2007 AWFS Fair

CITY OF COMMERCE, CA — The U.S. Dept. of Commerce (DOC) will be conducting its International Buyer Program for the first time at the 2007 AWFS Fair, to be held July 18 – 21 in Las Vegas, NV. The AWFS Fair is only one of 43 trade shows accepted by the DOC’s 2007-8 International Buyer program which offers services and logistical support to international attendees and connects domestic manufacturers with new international buyers.

Ideally suited within 500,000 square feet of the Las Vegas Convention Center, this biennial event features the largest exhibition of woodworking hardware and machinery, board and panel products, upholstery material, wood components, supplies, services and new technologies, as well as a strong set of educational offerings.

AWFS is working closely with DOC offices throughout the world to bring more international buyers to the 2007 show. International attendance increased 134% in 2005, and pre-registration indicates a similar triple-digit increase in 2007, with delegations expected from such countries as: Canada, Guyana, India, Ireland, Mexico, Paraguay, Philippines, Russia, Taiwan, Ukraine, Uruguay and more.

“AWFS is dedicated to encouraging international trade and exporting American education, and is proud to have earned its place in the rankings of international industry shows,” says AWFS Vice President Angelo Gangone.
