Danzer Group Offers FSC Controlled Wood Veneer and Lumber

BAAR, SWITZERLAND – Danzer Group offers Forest Stewardship Council Controlled Wood verified veneer, lumber and logs.

Controlled Wood verified veneer is key to supplying and marketing products with the FSC-Mixed Label, the company says. Each wood product must consist of at least 70% FSC-Pure certified wood. The remaining wood must comply with the FSC Controlled Wood standard.

“FSC-Certificates offer our customers a high degree of reliability and certainty that our wood products come from legally and sustainably managed forests,” says Olof von Gagern, Danzer Group CEO for Veneer Europe and Lumber Europe/Africa. “At the same time, we are also improving the marketing potential for our customers’ products because the demand for certified wood products is growing.”

Additionally, Danzer Group will soon be able to offer African timber with the FSC-Full label. The step-by-step FSC certification process will begin this year in cooperation with the World Wide Fund For Nature . Danzer Group’s African subsidiaries have already passed independent legality audits. The certificates verify the legal origin of all timber coming from the own concessions.
