WEST WYOMING, PA -- John's Manufacturing, a 41-year-old custom kitchen and woodworking business in West Wyoming, is going out of business.

According to the Scranton Times-Tribune, owner John Tafani is retiring and none of his four children have an interest in carrying on the business.

At its zenith, John's Manufacturing employed nine people, but as it prepares to close its doors its down to Tafani and one other employee.

"I built this business from scratch. I married this place before I married my wife," he said. "We used to do all custom work and manufacture pretty much everything. We used to make fireplaces and six-panel doors. We did high-end work."

Starting Jan. 28, all his merchandise will be sold at discounted prices including woodworking machinery, tools, showroom kitchen displays and more.

"I'm going to sell it off piece by piece," Mr. Tafani told the newspaper. "You can't get anybody to buy a business like this. Nobody wants to do this kind of work anymore."
