CPSC says 14,600 kids treated for crib injuries in 2009

WASHINGTON -- Approximately 14,600 children 5 years old and younder were treated at emergency rooms for crib-related injuries last year, a 27% increase from 2008, according to a U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission report.

All-told, 77,300 injuries caused by children's products ranging from cribs and strollers to high chairs required emergency room visits an increase of 21% from the prior year.
