Community group buys panel mills for a buck
GREENSTONE, ON – What will $1 Canadian buy you today?

How about a plywood mill and a waferboard mill, including the land and assets.

According to tbsnewswatch, a community ownership group in Greenstone has purchased the dormant Longlac Wood Industries. The mills were closed in January 2008, putting 130 people out of work.

The new owner is a group called Kenogami Industries Inc. It is a partnership made up of the municipality of Greenstone, Ginoogaming First Nation and former mill workers and industry representatives.
