KLAMATH FALLS, OR — Collins Products, a forest products company, on June 2 announced a new partnership with Thermo Pressed Laminates Inc., a manufacturer of melamines, foils, laminates, and veneer/melamine combinations.

Increased demand for Collins Pine FreeForm particleboard, the first and only Forest Stewardship Council certified particleboard in the U.S. with no-added urea-formaldehyde, was part of the reason given for the partnership, according to Collins.

“This partnership with TPL offers customers the first particleboard in North America that uses a melamine-based resin as opposed to a phenol-based resin,” said Chris Bailey, particleboard sales manager for Collins. “The thermally-fused melamine panels from TPL are FSC-certified and are available for LEED credits from the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program.”
