CMA Taps McDermott as Executive Director

Jim McDermott has been selected as the new executive director of the Cabinet Makers Assn., effective Dec. 15.

McDermott brings more than 20 years of experience in the cabinet making industry. He was a founding member of the CMA and served as the association’s president from August 2000 through August 2002.

McDermott succeeds DiAnna Gregory, who submitted her resignation effective Dec. 14 to pursue other opportunities.

Adam Rose, CMA president, said, “We are extremely lucky to have someone with Jim’s background and experience, both with the CMA and the woodworking industry in general.”

“I am looking forward to working with the board of directors of the CMA to improve and grow as we celebrate 10 years of success,” McDermott said. “Our mission is to educate our members and help them become more successful in the business of cabinet making. To accomplish this, we will continue to build on relationships we have established with other associations, trade groups and the press.”
