Closets Expo heads to Charlotte in 2011

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL –

The 7th annual Closets & Home Organization Conference & Expo moves to Charlotte, NC, next year following a successful three-day run in Long Beach, CA.

The unique event, cosponsored by CLOSETS magazine and the Association of Closet and Storage Professionals, is scheduled to take place Feb. 23-25, 2011 at the Charlotte Convention Center.

The Closets Conference & Expo will be bolstered by the 2nd annual Custom Cabinet Conference, cosponsored by the Cabinet Makers Assn. and Custom Woodworking Business magazine.

“We’re very excited to take our event to Charlotte as the economy continues to rebound,” said Rich Christianson, conference director for the co-located event. “The convention center is nestled in a great section of downtown Charlotte. There are dozens of great restaurants within a short walk and the new NASCAR Hall of Fame, which opens this month, is attached to the center.”

Long Beach Show a Success
The 6th annual Closets Conference & Expo was a victim of the economy in terms of attendance and exhibit displays.

What it lacked in numbers was compensated by a high level of enthusiasm among all of the more than 1,000 participants. Nearly 80% of exhibitors responding to a post-event survey gave the show a “good” of better “overall satisfaction rating.”

Steve Harmon, president of Drawer Connection, said, “This was the best and most upbeat Closets show we have attended to date. We look forward to the industry making its come back in the very near future.”

The majority of attendees also said they were glad they attended.

Frances Burnett, designer of Maui Closet Company, “It was a great opportunity to benchmark with the larger more seasoned closet company attendees and learn their methods of conducting sales and being successful in our current economy. "

Leslie Halsall president of Alpha Closet and Co. Inc., Pensacola, FL, “I feel my company is set apart from other local competitors with knowledge accessories, trends and management skills learned experienced form Closets Expo. All my vendors were vendors intorducted to me via the Closets Expo."

Sharon Kraushaar of Cougar Cabinetry in Saskatchewan, said, “This was our first time at the Closets Expo and we were very impressed with the high quality of exhibits and information sessions that we attended. We brought back a wealth of knowledge from Long Beach to share with our employees and customers.”
