China Wood Flooring Output Rises 9.4%

MOSCOW — China’s output of wood flooring was 361 million square meters in 2007, up 9.4% from 2006, Lesprom.com reports. 

Laminated flooring accounted for 61% of the total, while solid wood was at 12%, or slightly down due to lack of raw materials. Composite flooring amounted to 21% of the total, a 25% increase over 2006 levels. Increased material costs contributed to the output of bamboo flooring decreasing to 5.5% of total flooring output.
