Child’s Death Leads to Furniture Recall

WASHINGTON – Ameriwood Industries of Tiffin, OH, issued a voluntary recall for about 138,000 entertainment centers following the report of one of the units collapsing and killing an 19-month-old child, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The company also received three other reports of minor injuries.

The units were sold at mass merchandisers nationwide, including K-Mart stores, from June 2000 through May 2005 for about $200. They were manufactured in the United States.
