Charity hardwood golf tournament renamed in honor of killed lumberman

Anaheim, Calif. - The Los Angeles Hardwood Lumbermans Club voted to rename its annual charity golf tournament in honor of longtime member, Alan Bohnhoff.

LAHLC President Steve Ondich states his top priority is the success of  this year's tournament on Sept. 17, 2009. Funds raised will be donated to The Hardwood Forest Foundation. According to Ondich, "We renamed the tournament 'The Alan Bohnhoff Memorial Golf Tournament' in honor of our former President." Bohnhoff, along with Jaime Sanchez, was killed in a workplace shooting by another employee in May.

The LAHLC was established in 1969 as a social club for lumber executives in Southern California.

The tournament takes place on Thursday, Sept. 17 at 10:30 a.m. at Costa Mesa Country Club in Costa Mesa, Calif. Anyone wishing to play, sponsor, or donate a door prize, please contact Steve Ondich at (909) 256-4583.
