Canyon Creek wins green manufacturing award
MONROE, WA –

Canyon Creek Cabinet Co. has received the Association of Washington Business (AWB) 2010 Green Manufacturing Award at a ceremony in Blaine, WA.

The event recognized 11 Washington-based companies for their contributions to the state’s economy, in the areas of operational excellence, innovation and commitment to green manufacturing.

Canyon Creek has become renown for continually implementing new processes and technologies to reduce its waste streams, and has a comprehensive recycling program to manage other forms of waste produced during the manufacturing process. In addition to producing frame and frameless cabinetry, the company last year introduced a line of closet and storage products which it markets under the Canyon Creek Closets Plus brand.

According to Rob Reuter, Toxics Reduction Engineer with the Department of Ecology, “Canyon Creek’s strong commitment to environmental policies has allowed the company to implement projects that benefit the environment quickly and effectively. The facility is a leader for their industry and community to share tools, techniques and expertise with other businesses in Washington State.”

In 2009, Canyon Creek also was presented with the AWB Better Workplace Award in the category of safety and was chosen for the 2008 Governor’s Award for Sustainable Practices. The company earned its ISO 9001 certification in 2003.
