Canfor Suffers $94 Million 3Q Loss

VANCOUVER, BC – Canfor Corp. reported a net loss of $94.2 million in the third quarter, reversing a net profit of $64.2 million in the second quarter.

Sales fell from $837.4 million in the third quarter of 2007 to $666 million.

The company said the most recent quarterly operation results were “masked by the impact from one-time items” including an asset impairment charge of $56.9 million related to the company’s investment in Howe Sound Pulp and Paper Ltd. Partnership.
