MISSISSAUGA, ON – The Ontario Furniture Manufacturers Assn. has changed its name to the Canadian Home Furnishings Alliance.

The name change is an acknowledgement that many OFMA members have shifted to off-shoring furniture from China and other nations. The same realization led the American Furniture Manufacturers Assn. to re-christen itself as the American Home Furnishings Alliance a few years ago.

The CHFA is a duly-incorporated not-for profit provincial trade association representing manufacturers of furniture, furnishings, fixtures, accessories and suppliers to the industry. The trade group was originally founded in 1890 as the Furniture Manufacturers’ Assn.
