THORNHILL, ON — Canac Kitchens, a kitchen cabinet manufacturer, announced it will lay off the 400 remaining employees and close the doors at its Thornhill, ON, factory, according to the North Bay Nugget. 

The company said the declining U.S. dollar made production more expensive, while the struggling U.S. home market also was a factor. Production is moving to a factory in Statesville, NC.
