- A luxury home by Phil Kean won the Golden Aurora Award in the 2011 Aurora Awards design competition presented at the 33rd annual Southeast Building Conference last month. Cabinetry Creations, Orlando, FL, was on the winning team that designed and built the $3 million, 4,700 square foot home.
The winning entry was cited for taking "aging in place" into consideration, setting master suites on both levels, and including an elevator, and garage entrance. The homeâs great room and kitchen open to the lanai, summer kitchen, and garden via folding and pocketing glass doors. The home includes a theater room, library, and office/workshop with Murphy bed.
Corporate sponsors of the 2011 Aurora Awards, with winning teams including several other cabinetry and custom woodworking firms, include Marvin Window and Doors and MASCO.
