RESTON, VA — According to participating members in the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Assn. (KCMA) monthly Trend of Business Survey, cabinet sales for October 2007 decreased 9.4% compared to October 2006. Stock cabinet sales decreased 16.4%; semi-custom sales decreased 1.1%; and custom sales decreased 6.3%.
The year-to-date sales show a decrease of 12.5%, with stock sales down 20.0%; semi-custom sales down 4.9%; and custom sales down 4.6%.
Survey participants include stock, semi-custom and custom companies whose combined sales represent over 50% of the United States cabinet market. KCMA is a trade association for manufacturers of kitchen cabinets and bath vanities, and suppliers of goods and services to the industry.
