Bush Industries to Consolidate Operations

JAMESTOWN, NY – Bush Industries Inc. announced plans to consolidate some of its operations from its Erie, PA, facility to its Jamestown, NY, facility. The action will affect about 90 of the 270 people employed at the Erie operation.

“As economic conditions change, so must all successful businesses and Bush Ind. is no exception,” said James Sherbert, president and CEO. “We continue to expand our manufacturing and supply chain in Asia and Europe, which requires us to consolidate some domestic operations. This is an extension of our long-range strategy to align our manufacturing capabilities with the global demands of the market place.”

Bush Ind. will begin implementing the consolidation plan on or about Feb. 19. All distribution, logistics and certain strategic manufacturing operations will remain in Erie. The Erie facility was established in 1996 and consists of 1.1 million square feet of manufacturing, distribution and office space.
