BLACKSBURG, VA – Dr. Urs Buehlmann has joined the department of wood science and forest products in the College of Natural Resources as an associate professor. Buehlamnn works in the area of manufacturing systems, focusing on secondary wood processing and industry competitiveness.

Prior to joining Virginia Tech, Buehlmann was general manger of Enkeboll Designs in Los Angeles, CA. He also formerly held a position with North Carolina State University’s furniture manufacturing department in Raleigh, NC.

He has collaborated on several U.S. wood products competitiveness studies with Wood & Wood Products.
