Biesse Posts Double-Digit Growth for 3Q

PESARO, ITALY — Biesse SpA, a manufacturer of wood, glass and stone fabrication equipment and parent company of Biesse America/Canada and Intermac America/Canada, on Nov. 19 announced financial results for its fiscal 2007 third quarter, ended Sept. 30. Net revenue was up 25.2% and net profit up 17.8% compared with the same periods in 2006.

“We are very satisfied with the results approved today,” said Roberto Selci, chairman of Biesse S.p.A. “Especially because they were achieved in a quarter that is normally weaker in terms of revenue and consequently, profitability. Biesse continues to enjoy positive growth within an extremely competitive and continuously evolving environment. We see near term indicators remaining positive despite growing uncertainty surrounding the international economy deriving from, among other things, the record level of the euro/dollar exchange rate. We believe that the deterioration of the macroeconomic situation will not impact the excellent results we expect for the coming year.”
