CITY OF COMMERCE, CA—Presentations on topics relevant to the woodworking industry will be offered at the AWFS Fair, July 20-23, 2011, in Las Vegas by the following groups: Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and the Small Business Administration (SBA), along with their partnering group, Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE.)

Each day of the show, Art Sipple and Don Evans from the State of Nevada OSHA Safety Consultation & Training Section will discuss daily at 3 p.m. on the show floor common citations for the woodworking industry and how to avoid them.

Sessions will include:
* General Regulations (Wednesday)
* Woodworking Machinery (Thursday)
* Hazard Communication (Friday)
* Lockout/Tagout (Saturday)

Sipple and Evans will also present a seminar in the general College of Woodworking Knowledge (CWWK) education program entitled, OSHA Safety & Health Guidelines: Voluntary or Mandatory? The course will run on Wednesday, July 20 from 1 – 2:30 p.m. Other panel discussions related to woodworking will also take place during AWFS.

The SBA and SCORE will share a booth and will give daily presentations on What SBA and SCORE Can do for You! These two organizations work hand in hand to support small businesses in the areas of loan programs, business and financial plans, marketing, small business insurance and loss prevention, contracts and business counseling, as well as many other topics.
