KNOXVILLE, TN — The Knoxville News Sentinel reports that Armstrong Hardwood Flooring has announced it will lay off 113 workers at the end of May. The company blames the housing market slump and sluggish economy for the decision to eliminate the third shift completely. The company emphasized that laid off workers will be eligible for re-employment once business improves.
