MORRISON, TN – Brad Graves, mechanical & spindle design supervisor at Accu-Router Inc., has been appointed to become the new chair of the ASC 01.1 sub-committee for the development of a machine specific standard for CNC machining centers. The effort is expected to create a new machine specific standard within the next 18 months.
The ASC 01.1 standing committee is charged with the responsibility of developing the ANSI 01.1 safety guidelines standard for woodworking machinery and machine specific standards. The last release of the ANSI 01.1 standard was 2004. The Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers of America (WMMA) serves as the secretariat of this committee effort. Mike Gilliland is the ASC 01.1 committee chair. This industry standard is traditionally cited or referenced in most machine product liability litigation cases.
