ATLANTA -- Aaron's, the furniture manufacturer that leases and sells through more than 1,750 company-owned stores, says it plans to add more than 1,000 retail employees as it gears up to reach $3 billion in annual revenue.

Aaron's says its 75 franchise stores will add as many as 400 employees.

The company is bullish on growth, after reporting last month that Aaron's fourth quarter revenues rose 9 percent to $484.4 million and net earnings leaped 23 percent to $30.8 million. For the year ended December 31, 2010, revenues increased 7% to $1.88 billion and net earnings increased 5% to $118.4 million.

Last year Aaron's renamed its furniture and bedding manufacturing division Woodhaven Furniture Industries, reflecting efforts to produce wood furnishings in a greener fashion. Aaron's Woodhaven Furniture Industries division manufactured approximately $79 million, at cost, of furniture and bedding at 12 facilities in seven states in 2010, after opening a new plant in Phoenix. The entire production of Woodhaven is for shipment to Aaron's stores
