CULVER, OR -- An employee of Mid Columbia Lumber Co. was treated for first and second degree burns to his face as he attempted to shut down an electrical panel to control a fire on Tuesday.
The worker was injured when the fire culminated in a explosion. Damage to the facility, estimated at $93,000, could have been far worse if not for efforts by the mill's employees and activation of its sprinkler system, according to KTVZ.
Fire officials were continuing to investigate the incident which they believed was caused by an electrical malfunction.
