The fire has not affected other Nueva Aldea Complex facilities, in addtion to the panel mill, a pulp mill, a logging mill, a saw mill and biomass-based power plants. 
Arauco is working with CONAF, Chile's forestry agency, and more than 300 specialized fire fighters backed by seven airplanes and eight helicopters.

Uniboard USA found a buyer for its $160 million panel mill, opened less than two years. The buyer, Arauco, needs the capacity. The Chilean plywood products firm topped wood industry news this week as a victim of massive fires, along with the forests of the Bio Bio region of Chile where its plants are situated.
