Target To Refund $1 Million on Children's Sitting Stools

WASHINGTON - Some 69,000 wood sitting stools are being recalled by Target.

Made in China, the 11-inch stools' stabilizing bar was found to split and crack, posing a falling hazard to users.

Target is providing a refund for the stools, since it is impractical to repair them. If every stool was returned for a refund, the total would be over $1 million.

Produced in China and imported by L. Powell Acquisition Corp., of Culver City, CA, the Circo-brand Chloe and Conner sitting stools are not the first imported stools Target has recalled. Last year Target called 340,000 Circo brand wood step stools made for it in China, Vietnam, Taiwan and Thailand.
