BOYNE CITY, MI -- Kirtland Products LLC, a manufacturer of wood pellets, is drawing neighborhood complaints over noise.
Operations at the new plant, which employs about a dozen workers, reportedly create a continous "low lum" and "woodsy odor," according to the Petoskey News.
An executive of the company told the paper that it is looking to find a remedies to control objectionable noise. For the short term, the company has reportedly shortened its work week from 22 hours a day to 10 hours a day.
Kirtland used local Jack Pine trees to compress into pelllets.
