TEMPE, AZ - Wood industry supplier Joan Kemp, head of CP Adhesives, was honored this morning by WMIA for her years of service to the wood industry and for her leadership of the Association of Woodworking & Furnishings Suppliers.

"Joan Kemp has always been a great partner for WMIA," said Henderson, outgoing president of the Woodworking Machinery Industry Association. The event took place at the WIC 2013 Wood Industry Conference, which is co-sponsored by WMIA and the WMMA.

Kemp, who was also recognized at an AWFS board installation banquet on Tuesday night, steered the Association of Woodworking & Furnishings Suppliers (AWFS) through parlous times during the downturn. Her original two-year board appointment stretched to five years. 

Kemp is succeeded by Wade Gregory, Flakeboard sales manage, as board president; she remains in the role remains on the AWFS board as immediate past president. AWFS operates the AWFS Fair woodworking exposition, running July 23-27, 2013 in Las Vegas, the largest North American wood industry trade show this year.
