CHICAGO - The Window and Door Manufacturers Association released its Window and Entry Door 2014 U.S. Market Study, which reports sustained gains for the residential window market through 2015.

WDMA Study Shows Growth for Residential Window MarketThe study, conducted by Metrostudy and the Virginia Center for Housing Research at Virginia Tech, projects the total residential window market to grow 9.1 percent in 2014 and 8.3 percent for 2015. Last year, the industry saw 10 percent market growth.

Last year, vinyl windows comprised approximately 69 percent of the residential market, trailed by wood clad windows at 20 percent.

The WDMA report offers information on residential entry door along with residential and light commercial window market trends and product relationships. The report also includeshistoric data for 2011 and 2012 and forecast data for 2014 through 2016. In addition, the report features data on ENERGY STAR 2013 production and market growth.
