U.S. Cabinetry Exec Missing at Thailand Factory ProjectWHIDBEY ISLAND, WA - Cabinetry and woodworking businessman Nicholas Springer is missing in Thailand and may have been abducted, says the U.S. State Department.

Springer was in Phattaya, Thailand, building a cabinetry and wood products manufacturing plant in a development project established by him and his business partner, Harvey Sims.

Sims, who is based on Whidbey Island, WA, contacted local media in Washington State after Springer   disappeared from Pattaya, a beach town about 90 miles from Bangkok. Sims approached televsion station KIRO-TV, because he felt law enforcement officials in Thailand weren't moving quickly enough. 

Springer's business partner Sims is an established construction contractor and fine woodworking craftsman on the West Coast. He owns high end construction company American Craftsman. His furniture design company Wedgeworth Cross is also based in Pattaya, Thailand.
