GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Steelcase Inc., a manufacturer of office and contract furniture, plans to establish a plant in Pune, India, to produce office seating.
It will be the office furniture giant's third manufacturing facility in Asia, according to Hindu Business Line, quoting Uli Gwinner, president of Steelcase Asia Pacific. Steelcase's other plants are in China and Malaysia.
Steelcase is also in the process of opening an office in Hyderabad; it will be its fourth in India.
He was in the city to open its fourth Indian office in Hyderabad, outlining plans to move into other cities.
