TACOMA, WA - Simpson Lumber is for sale. The The privately held business has lumber operations in Tacoma, Longview, and Shelton, WA; and plants in Georgetown, SC and Meldrim, GA, plus a door-making operation in McCleary, WA. 

The Tacoma News-Tribune reports that the Simpson Door operation will be retained. Nationwide, Simpson employs 800. 

RockTenn and Simpson Lumber Company LLC announced today an agreement whereby RockTenn will acquire the Simpson Tacoma Kraft Paper Mill located in Tacoma, WA, for approximately $343 million.
