NETTLETON, MS - The U.S. manufacturer of Simmons Upholstery furniture, United Furniture Industries has announced plans to expand operations at its Nettleton, MS, facility. United Furniture said it will invest $277,000 in the project, which will create a minimum of 100 new jobs.

UFI currently has 400 employees at the Nettleton facility and 1,800 overall. In addition to the Nettleton facility, the company has two manufacturing facilities in Okolona, MS, a manufacturing facility and distribution center in Armory, MS, as well as facilities in Archdale, High Point and Lexington, NC. Production space totals 2.7 millions square feet, according to UFI's website

The Mississippi Development Authority provided assistance for the Nettleton project's infrastructure improvements. “United Furniture’s commitment to Mississippi and our workforce is greatly appreciated, and MDA is honored to have been able to provide assistance for this project,” MDA Executive Director Brent Christensen said in a statement.

The exclusive U.S. manufacturer of Simmons Upholstery since 2008, UFI also produces stationary sofas, Beautyrest upholstery, reclining sofas, recliners, sectionals and Hide-A-Bed sleepers. It was founded in 2000 through the merger and acquisitions of Comfort Furniture, Parkhill Furniture and United Chair.
