SierraPine Shuts Down MDF MillROSEVILLE, CA – SierraPine will dismantle its Rocklin, CA, medium density fiberboard (MDF) manufacturing plant, putting approximately 75 people out of work.

The announcement came a month after SierraPine said it planned to shut down one of the two production lines of the nearly 40-year-old operation by December 16.

“We’re going to terminate all manufacturing operations at Rocklin,” Sierra Pine spokesperson Katherine told the Rocklin Pacer Herald.  The paper noted that the plant was on a watch list  for various Clean Air Act violations.

The Rocklin MDF plant experienced a fire to its air scrubber unit on June 2.

SierraPine also operates an MDF mill in Medford, OR; and particleboard mills in Adel, GA, Martell, CA; and Springfield, OR.
