Sierra Pacific Names VP Window OperationsANDERSON, CA --  Sierra Pacific Industries tapped Tom Takach as the new vice president of operations to oversee the company’s windows division.

Takach will oversee manufacturing and operations for Sierra Pacific's Red Bluff, CA Windows Plant as well as the two newly acquired Hurd and Superseal Window and Door plants in Wisconsin. Takach joins the company with 21 years of experience in the window and door industry, mostly for Jeld-Wen, one of the largest producers of windows and doors in the United States.

Sierra Pacific acquired Hurd earlier this month. The combined SPI/Hurd entity will be a vertically integrated company, from tree to finished product. Hurd's market share doubled in the past six years. Plus, the addition of Hurd and Superseal will significantly expand SPI's sales and manufacturing capabilities, company officials said.

Sierra Pacific owns and manages nearly 1.9 million acres of timberland in California and Washington, and is the second largest lumber producer in the United States.
