CHOPIN, LA - Two RoyOMartin lumber plants have been honored by the APA - Engineered Wood Association. According to APA, 65 wood products facilities worldwide participated in the safety audit program that measures a plant's accident rate.

The company's plywood plant in Chopin, La. received the second highest award in its division for the APA’s Annual Safety and Health Program. RoyOMartin' oriented strand board plant in Oakdale, La., earned the APA’s Innovation in Safety Award for its Safety Mentor Program, which recruits veteran employees to teach new employees proper safety. Accidents among the program's participants dropped 86% since it was implemented one year ago.
