Protech/Oxyplast Acquires Innotek Powder Coatings

MONTREAL - The Protech/Oxyplast Group of Montreal, Canada will acquired the powder coating business and manufacturing assets of Innotek Powder Coatings, Big Spring, TX.

Protech says it will integrate Innotek’s manufacturing operations into its own, according to David Ades, Protech managing director.

“Innotek’s leading thermoplastic technology is a great addition to our global business," Ades said in a statement. "It is complementary to our extensive thermoset powder coatings.”

Among wood industry applications, Protech coatings are used in store fixtures and displays; its antimicrobial coatings are used in health industry furnishings.

Innotek Powder Coatings, a wholly owned subsidiary of Wagner & Brown, Ltd. of Midland, TX, primarily produces power coatings used in exterior metal fixtures, furniture and in packaging. In 2009 Protech acquired another power coating producer, Govesan Manufacturing Inc. of York, PA..
