WINNIPEG, CANADA -- Palliser Furniture named Cary Benson as its new CEO. He will replace Art DeFehr, a majority owner of the furniture manufacturer, according to Home Furnishings Business.

“I am pleased that Cary will be taking on the additional responsibilities of CEO,” DeFehr said to Home Furnishing Business. “During his tenure, Palliser has experienced significant increases in both sales and earnings. More importantly, Cary has displayed his commitment through his leadership by respecting our family’s heritage and honoring our company’s values.”

DeFehr, known for his humanitarian and philanthropic work -- he is founding chair of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, will still serve as the CEO of Palliser's parent company.
