In order to interact more efficiently with customers through Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, PPG Industries’ industrial coatings business is expanding its social media capabilities. The company hopes to enhance customer engagement by providing real-time company and industry news, and by giving customers access to valuable resources.
“We expanded our social media capabilities to get closer to our customers,” said Sharon Bird, PPG marketing communications manager, industrial coatings. “We have lots of everyday business news to share, from new literature announcements and where to find us at trade shows to new products, projects and application photos. These forums enable us to do that easily while giving customers an opportunity to learn more about our coatings expertise.”
The PPG Industrial Coatings Facebook Page includes frequently asked questions, industry news and project photos. The @PPGIC profile on Twitter gives updates on the company’s products, trade show activities and other topics, and a company page on LinkedIn contains company news and product information.
