Eighty Four, PA --  Maggie Hardy Magerko, owner of 84 Lumber Co. bought and remodeled a home with new windows and siding for the family of a police officer who was killed in the line of duty.

Owner of 84 Lumber Buys, Remodels Home for Family of Fallen CopOfficer Richard Champion of the Perryopolis Police Department was killed in December during the high speed pursuit of a motorist, leaving behind a wife and infant son.

Hardy Magerko told media outlets she wanted to be able to provide a home for Champion’s family due to his history of public service as both a police officer and member of the military. Champion served two tours of duty in Iraq. Champion’s wife Dawn also served in the military.

The family had been living in a rental home with plans to purchase it, according to local media. Hardy Magerko purchased the home for the family and pad to have the structure remodeled, including siding, windows, doors, walls, ceilings and electrical repairs.
