WASHINGTON - Office Depot has issued a recall for approximately 1.4 million Gibson leather task chairs.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said Office Depot received 153 reports of the chair's seat plate weld cracking or breaking posing a fall hazard.Twenty five of the reports involved injuries including contusions, abrasions and neck and head injuries. One chair user reportedly suffered a fractured back.
The adjustable, arm-less chairs were manufactured by Victory Land Ent. Co. Ltd. and Wonderful Year Co. Ltd. of Taiwan and China Power Flamingo Ltd. and Anji Wanan Furniture Co. Ltd. of China.

The chairs sold exclusively at Office Depot retail stores and online from 2003 through 2012 for about $40.They were imported by Office Depot of Boca Raton, FL, and Swinton Avenue Trading, a division of Office Depot, formerly of Del Ray Beach, FL.
Consumers are urged to return the chairs to Office Depot for a $55 store merchandise credit.
